Loch Leven Lakes

Saturday, August 8

Join us for a summer morning in Tahoe National Forest as we make our way to the beautiful Loch Leven Lakes.

This trail is considered moderate, with a gradual climb on the way in. We'll take our time, stop when needed, and enjoy the journey together. Most of the ascent is shaded beneath the trees, making for a much more comfortable hike during the summer months.

We're getting an early start for two reasons: the parking area fills up quickly, and cooler morning temperatures always make for a better hiking experience.

Once we reach the lakes, we'll have plenty of time to relax, swim, enjoy lunch, and take it all in before heading back to the trailhead.

A Few Friendly Reminders

  • We'll be hiking past established campsites. Please be respectful of campers and keep noise to a minimum.
  • Parking is limited, so we'll help coordinate carpools whenever possible.
  • Pack out everything you pack in and help us leave the area better than we found it.

Whether it's your first hike with us or your fifteenth, we'd love to have you out there.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out. We also encourage everyone to spend a little time researching the trail beforehand - it helps you come prepared and makes the experience even more enjoyable.
